Job Description:
Berry Fresh LLC is a leading importer/distributor of fresh berries throughout the United States and Canada. We are currently seeking a Food Safety Manager at our Dominguez Hills, CA headquarters to oversee our food safety and GMP programs at our facilities in Southern California, Oregon and New Jersey.
Requirements:
- Strong background in the produce industry
- 3 years work experience in a food safety/HACCP related field
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Self starter and excellent leadership ability
- A strong working knowledge of all Microsoft applications
- HACCP training certified
- Bilingual
Responsibilities & Duties:
- The Food Safety Manager is responsible for Berry Fresh’s food safety and GMP program, which includes:
- Supervise all supplier food safety and GMP compliance
- Responsible for all food safety regulatory compliance
- Supervise all microbiological testing and recordkeeping
- Monitor the resolution of food safety/GMP corrective actions
- Oversee company’s 3rd party audit database
- Conduct HACCP, food safety and GMP worker training in both English and Spanish
- HACCP process development and validation
- Develop, review and update SOP’s
- Supervise Trace/Recall Plan and conduct routine mock recalls
- Responsible for all consumer and customer communication and correspondence relating to food safety
- Responsible for ongoing food safety and GMP research
