Job Description:
A prominent produce company on the Central Coast of California is looking for an Accounting Manager to lead their GL team in a hands-on and deadline driven role. In this position, the ideal candidate will manage the daily accounting functions related to general ledger and be responsible for financial reporting and internal controls compliance.
Requirements:
- 7-10 years of accounting experience that includes at least two years in a public accounting firm
- Knowledge of cost accounting, standard cost required
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting required, CPA strongly preferred
- Produce/agriculture industry experience is ideal

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Oversee and participate in the monthly, quarterly and annual close, guaranteeing efficient and accurate, financial results
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Oversight of GL functions including variance analysis, preparation and review of journal entries, and preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee and perform, various cost accounting functions
- Propose and implement strategies to improve efficiencies
- Preparation of audit schedules and quarterly audit reporting
- Work with FP&A team on budget and forecasting activities
- Continuously develop, improve and implement procedures that will improve efficiencies within the department
- Other projects as needed
