Employer Introduction

Over 50 Years of Potatoes
Grand Bend Produce Co Ltd. has built a reputation over the past five decades because of the hard work and dedication of three generations of family business members within the Jamrozinski and Rood families.
Established in 1960 by Henry and Helen Jamrozinski with 12 acres of land in the Grand Band Marsh; Grand Bend Produce has grown to managing over 1300 acres with numerous farms across Southwestern Ontario. As well, they work with growers across North America.
When Grand Bend family members began taking their little potatoes home to cook, their guests always wanted to know where these delicious potatoes had come from. They went on to discover that the remarkable flavour was due to the fact that the potatoes had not reached full maturity. The Mini-Gourmet Potato phenomena had begun. And Grand Bend Produce began to market them separately from their full sized crop.
In 1978 Theo Rood and Diana (Jamrozinski) Rood purchased the Sparenberg farm and joined the family business. Grand Bend Produce was officially incorporated and the expansion has continued in conjunction with research and development efforts. Under the labels of ‘Grand Bend Produce’ and ‘Mini-Gourmet Potato’, GBP has since become a pioneer in the growing, processing, and distribution of potatoes in both Canada and the USA.
Grand Bend Produce is currently owned and managed by the second and third generation of family business leaders. Theo, Diane, Warren, and Jeremy Rood are recognized as foremost experts within the potato industry and innovators in the specialized field of mini-potatoes.

Passion for Potatoes
Our Passion For Potatoes continues into the current generation of family business leaders, Warren and Jeremy Rood. Their passion can best be summarized in three qualities that are the foundation of Grand Bend Produce (GBP).
INNOVATION: GBP was not just involved in the earliest stages of pioneering and developing the mini-potato market in North America. We continue to devote substantial acreage for testing new potato varieties each year, having well over 20 varieties in various stages of development annually.
QUALITY: Its not just how the potato looks on the grocery shelf – GBP prides itself in developing and bringing to your dinner table the very best tasting, healthiest, and freshest potatoes anywhere! Guaranteed!
INTEGRITY: Not only have we established our reputation for innovation and quality, but our long-standing relationships with growers throughout North America allow us to deliver consistent quality and produce to your kitchen every day of the year.
