Job Description: 
We are an established company operating in Yuma, AZ and Salinas, CA. We provide agricultural labor needs and custom harvesting for our customers, creating value for farmers while maintaining a safe and professional program. We service every major food level, providing operational support functions to our customers. Our staff is incredibly dedicated, and we are looking to build onto that team.

We have an immediate opening for a bilingual (Spanish & English) Human Resources Generalist working in Yuma, Arizona and Imperial Valley, CA.

You will be an integral part of the team working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, retention, and employee engagement. You will coordinate training and development programs, including Prevention of (Sexual) Workplace Harassment, COVID-19, foreperson, and management training.

Your Impact: 

  • Conduct employment investigations to resolve employment relations issues.
  • Periodic crew visits, reporting any potential issues or concerns.
  • Ensure proper compliance with on boarding and off-boarding employees.
  • In coordination with other team members, update on as needed basis electronic and hard-copy personnel records.
  • Complete, as required, mandated reports for governmental regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure filing compliance of all personnel records as mandated by local, state, and federal laws.
  • Back-up team members in other areas such as benefits, safety and H2A when needed.
  • Provide HR Policy guidance and training, and partner with management on the implementation and communication of policies and procedures.
  • Assist with safety and injury & illness programs as needed.
  • Assist with workers’ compensation programs, coordinates information flow among internal and external parties.

Your Education and Experience
  • At minimum, an Associate Degree in Human Resources, or a related field, required. 
  • At least two years of practical experience in on or more of the following: designing or conducting discrimination, retaliation, and sexual harassment prevention training, responding to sexual harassment complaints or other discrimination complaints, conducting investigations of sexual harassment complaints, or advising employers or employees regarding discrimination, retaliation and sexual harassment prevention. 
  • At least 2 years of human resources experience in the agriculture industry preferred, that would provide the level of knowledge and ability required for the position. 
  • Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; apply concepts of basic algebra; and interpret graphs, charts, and tables.
Your Language Skills
  • REQUIRED: Must be bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and a professional manner with all Company employees, including general labor, administrative, supervisory and management employees and external stakeholders.
Other
  • Travel required, about 15%.
  • Requires working outside normal business hours and weekends. 
  • Valid drivers license.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Prolonged periods of driving Company vehicle.
  • Outside work requires walking, standing in fields in all weather conditions.
  • Light to moderate lifting (up to 40 pounds).
  • Reaching, stooping, pulling, pushing and manual dexterity.
  • Operating a computer, calculator, copier, and typewriter involves repetitive hand arm movement.
  • Must be able to visit all Company departments and environments, including, office, field, shop, etc.
  • Entering data by touch requires the ability to hear computer alarms for errors.
  • Stays at hotel/motel for indeterminate periods of time.
  • Drives or boards domestic flights to Company locations, as necessary.
  • Must be able to handle multi-tasks and work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. 
  • Must be able to interact politely with outside customers and vendors.
  • Communication with other staff members involves making contact orally, via the telephone, electronic email or in person.
