Ark Foods is seeking a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager to refine and uphold our category leading food safety and quality assurance practices. Our Hackensack, NJ production facility, where we produce our line of fresh cut Veggie Bowls, is SQF certified. We uphold ourselves to an incredibly high standard of quality and food safety.

This role will center around implementing and managing our SQF program, as well as ensuring quality, food safety and necessary specifications for outgoing customer orders.

Requirements: 
  • 2-5 years QA / QC experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Advanced education or related degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology is preferred
  • HACCP certified
  • Strong working knowledge of SQF (or SQF practitioner certified)
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done

  • Desire to learn more, and collaborate with a world-class team of colleagues
  • Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Willingness to work for long stretches of time on a refrigerated production floor
  • Must be able to bend and comfortably lift up to 40 pounds
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Oversee day-to-day implementation of SQF, GMP, HACCP
  • Ensure proper logging, swabbing, testing, general sanitation and adherence to strict food safety protocols
  • Train team of Spanish-speaking Warehouse Associates around proper food safety practices
  • Own and update all food safety related paperwork, logs, standards and practices
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and food safety standards and regulations
  • Manage consumer complaint program, identify root causes, take corrective actions as necessary, and complete relevant documentation
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with related 3rd parties, such as consultants, suppliers, agencies, and labs
  • Design and execute food safety, quality and shelf life experiments
  • Uphold spec and minimum quality requirements for all finished customer orders that leave the facility
  • Collaborate with Operations Team to update and improve production processes in accordance with food safety standards, regulations, and techniques
  • Maintain and enforce specifications for current and upcoming products
  • Use proper Verification and Validation structures for implementation of products and processes
