Berry People is a year-round, full-line shipper of organic and conventional berries and avocados, and owner of the Berry People® and Avo People® brands. Headquartered in Hollister, California, the company’s ownership and key alliance partners hold important production assets in California, Mexico, Chile, and Peru. We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our team in Hollister, CA.
The Operations Manager shall be responsible for daily management and execution with all segments of operations, facilities, transportation, quality control, compliance, packaging, import customs and expediting, production, sales and administration. He/She will have an integral understanding of every operation’s costs, accounting, and ultimate impact to financials of the Company. He/She will manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, agreements, and execution in all segments. The Operations Manager will have the right combination of experience, education, talent, and passion for their work as a key contributor to the Company’s go forward success.
The successful candidate will have:

Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business, Sales & Marketing or Related Emphasis preferred. Consideration given to combined Education Experience and Track Record.

Fully Understand Financial Statements

Critical Thinking, Forensic Troubleshooting, Pattern recognition, Trend Identification, and Problem Solving skills.

Technologically and functionally advanced skills, MS Office Suite, Software systems, Apps, Portals, writing SOP’s and Navigation.

Product Sourcing and Materials Purchasing

Superior People Management skills.

Ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities effectively and flexibly to meet company needs

Contract/Agreement Terms Negotiation, Mediation, Mitigation, Execution and Management

Impeccable multi-level Emotional Intelligence and Diplomacy skills in Communications in a Multi-Cultural and Global environment.

Ability to travel to various supplier, customer, vendor locations as needed.

Project Management, end to end from development, execution and completion.

10 Years of experience and crystalized industry knowledge in Fresh Produce, Agricultural production, Sales and Operational Management combined. Primarily Berries and Avocados.

Experience in IT Infrastructure & ERP Implementation

Experience in Domestic & International Logistics & Freight Forwarding

Experienced in Quality and Compliance Management

Farming, Packing, Shipping, Sourcing, and Sales Experience

Personnel, Process, and Product Management

Spanish/English Biliteracy Required
