Position Summary:
This position will serve as a key global resource focused on raw leafy green ingredients, food, and agriculture operations. This role will help lead and direct program efforts to counsel grower partners in their sustainability journey as they seek to understand and meet expectations in the ESG/CSR segment. We are looking for an individual with strong initiative, energy, and professionalism. The ideal candidate is comfortable assessing our supplier base, working with a global and cross-functional team, and providing measurable solutions.

Primary Duties:
  • AG ESG & Sustainability- 20%
    • Support global initiatives such as our Corporate Social
    • Responsibility and Sustainability goals
    • Fit the vision of Bonduelle group BPact in regenerative farming practices
  • AG Tech & Innovation- 20%
    • Ground truthing and data collection and analysis
    • AGRO ONE oversight and implementation across all BFA
  • Seed Management & Variety Programs-30%
    • Effectively communicate planting and zoning locations at early crop stages
    • Coordinate crop varieties with seed companies and growers to ensure the execution of variety planning.
    • Physically planting plots in the field and evaluating growth stages to meet Bonduelles specifications
  • Product Innovation- 20%
    • Identify pre-commercial commodities/products to fit our innovation pipelines that align with our I&D vision
    • Collect, consolidate, and report data on variety trials and R&D projects
  • Special Projects- 10%
    • Working with local industry groups and universities to troubleshoot common Ag challenges
Key Deliverables:
  • Record data pertaining to experimentation, research, or plant care.
  • Record environmental data from field samples of soil, water, or pesticides to monitor the effectiveness of integrated pest management (IPM) practices.
  • Conduct studies of nitrogen or alternative fertilizer application methods, quantities, or timing to ensure the satisfaction of crop needs and minimization of leaching, runoff, or denitrification.
  • Conduct data evaluation of insect or plant disease surveys.
  • Tests on seeds to evaluate seed viability.
  • Assessment of soil erosion from various planting or tillage systems, such as conservation tillage with mulch or ridge till systems, no-till systems, or conventional tillage systems with or without moldboard plows.
  • Performance of crop production duties such as tilling, hoeing, pruning, weeding, and harvesting crops.
  • Collaboration and relationships with seed and technology business partners.
  • Documentation of seed variety trials along with research and development projects.
  • Boots on the ground evaluations traveling to field locations.
  • Growers in alignment with global strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally with departments to ensure program effectiveness across the company.
Minimum Qualifications:
  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainability, Business, Supply Chain, or Related Field
  • +5 years of related experience required, preferably in Agronomy, Soil & Plant Science, Sustainability
  • Strong communicator, attention to detail, and high level of organization
  • Self-starter and enjoys working with field operations
  • Familiar with CSR and AG Tech segments
  • Farming background and working knowledge of field operations in leafy greens
  • Knowledge of Industry Transitions (Salinas to Yuma, Yuma to Salinas, etc.)
  • Familiar w/ Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in Google Suite preferred
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced multicultural environment

  • Knowledge of the company’s business practices and direction, as well as familiarity with the company’s products and resources
  • Fluent in Spanish- Helpful but not Mandatory
  • Ability to organize and lead technical programs
  • A proven track record of results with a bias for action
  • A passion for learning and a craving to work in a fun culture
