We have an immediate opening for a Desert Production Manager in Yuma, AZ.

This person will be responsible for overseeing all contracted production in the Desert area.

Requirements: 
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) highly desired
  • Valid US Driver’s License and clean driving record
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Planting schedule oversight including: Recommended areas, growers and fields, overall plan development and timely and accurate execution of plantings
  • Report planting activity weekly as required by Vice President, Farm Operations
  • Participate in varietal recommendations with growers and Betteravia Farms Management
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term input cost understanding and cost reduction programs and processes
  • Responsible for tracking progress of crop quality with growers and estimating timing of harvest
  • Generate and develop relationships with grower management and personnel
  • Analyze and report annual grower crop production review comparatives based on cost per carton, quality, and grower participation
  • Arrange and present annual review and upcoming season expectations with each grower
  • Maintain consistent contacts and report real estate opportunities in the greater Yuma area
  • Represent Betteravia Farms in a professional and positive manner at all times
  • Ensure field information accuracy
  • Confirm accuracy and validity of all billing
Qualifications: 
  • Combination of education and job experience
  • Experience in positive leadership with the responsibilities of inventory, cost, and production controls
  • Sound administrative skills, well-developed and highly ethical management skills-principles, and people
  • Proven ability to train and motivate others
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities
  • Participative management abilities
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.  Ability to get along with diverse personalities
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive-but able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities
  • Satisfactory written skills
  • Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations
  • Specific Knowledge of managing production harvesting
