JOB FILLED - Sales Representative

Brooks Tropicals is a leading grower, packer, and shipper of tropical fruits, founded in the early 1900s. Based in the heart of Redland, Florida, Brooks’ specializes in producing and distributing a wide range of tropical produce, including avocados, papayas, and starfruit.   Our produce is shipped to major retailers across the United States and beyond, with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation.

Job Summary:
Sells tropical fruit grown and sourced by Brooks Tropicals to retail and wholesale customers throughout North America.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Quotes existing and potential customers pricing for current and future weeks on available products via phone, fax, email and internet sales portal.
• Sells current produce inventory to existing and potential customers over the phone, via email, or via internet sales portal.
• Sets up promotions as requested by management.  Write up corresponding offer and ad sheets.
• Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, quality assurance, management, and other key personnel).
• Solves customer problems related to quality, sizing, transportation and other issues.
• Advises customers of shortages and other order issues.
• Updates sales management on market conditions and changes in customer buying patterns.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures.
• Performs special projects as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs any directly related appropriate duties assigned by sales manager.
• Visits customers as needed, typically one-to-two-day trips.
• Attends food shows/trade shows to further develop customer relationships and build new customer relationships.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.  College degree preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task.
• Prior experience selling tropical fruits preferred.
• Willingness to travel.
• Ability to make decisions in stressful environment.
• Bi-Lingual in Spanish a plus.
