Caruso Produce is a local, family-owned produce wholesaler founded by the Caruso family in 1945 and still led by Sam Caruso today. In the last 85+ years it has grown into one of the region’s top wholesalers.
We have an immediate opportunity for a Buyer to join our team in our new 100,000 Square Foot state-of-the-art facility in Canby, OR.
Our buyers are relationship builders, well networked with both suppliers and customers in the Pacific Northwest and beyond who successfully collaborate with our partners to scale for growth.
A buyer at Caruso works cohesively with other teams in our organization, communicating commodity availability, pricing, quality and logistics. In addition to procurement, a background in sales is ideal along with experience managing relationships with large chain stores.
We’re seeking a goal-driven team member who is forward thinking, skilled, and agile in sourcing commodities, negotiating contracts and pricing to maintain adequate inventory to match and expand sales volume.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of related experience in the produce trade or equivalent.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with timeliness while successfully self-motivating.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
