We are now hiring for a Quality Control Technician to support our facilities in Monterey County, CA; Imperial / Yuma County, AZ and Fresno County, CA.
As a Quality Control Technician, you are responsible for the success of quality compliance and the overseeing and auditing of quality procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee staff’s implementation of all Quality Programs
- Manage and coordinate customer Quality visits and audits
- Ensure compliance to company Quality Programs and customer requirements/specifications
- Implementation of Company’s Food Safety, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) & Good Handling Practices (GHP) written programs
- Communicate with customer inspectors and manage private label field approval
- Uphold Quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals
- Take pictures and create field assessments for review amongst Production and Sales departments
- Manage and coordinate corrective actions for complaints pertaining to Quality issues
- Monitor traceability and quality specifications to determine present standards and maintain reliability of harvested product
- Development of quality culture amongst all employees through training, development, monitoring and mentoring
- Provide timely communication to commodity managers and production department of field quality assessments
- Assist in the completion of quality trainings for harvest crew forepersons, employees, etc.
- Verify resources are in place to support quality and business needs
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school
- one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Agriculture or specific produce experience is preferred
- Knowledge of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) & Good Handling Practices (GHP)
- Certification in Quality disciplines (i.e., ASQ CQE, CQA, etc.) preferred

- Bi-Literate in English/Spanish
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of quality standards
- Must be able to absorb and learn company quality control processes and procedures and be able to demonstrate “good” practices through information retention.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Excellent communicator, both verbal and written
- Effective presentation, and public speaking skills
- Clear and accurate written and verbal communication
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- A valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
