We are currently looking for a National Sales and Account Manager to join our sales team to create and execute sales strategies for onion and potato distribution channels. This individual will be accountable for increasing volume and driving returns to our growers. We are looking for an accomplished produce sales professional with the ability to build relationships, apply data analytics to effectively sell and manage accounts, adapt to changing market conditions and serve accounts with organizational discipline and detail. 
This position is based with a team on one of our farms located in Southeast Washington and will work closely with our national sales organization.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Grow and manage onion and potato sales
  • Seek and secure new customers in the retail, wholesale, brokerage and foodservice channels
  • Communicate regularly with customers to keep them informed of product availability, quality and price
  • Utilize data for decision support, planning, forecasting and customer management
  • Conduct business reviews and sales presentations on an as needed basis
  • Negotiate pricing strategies that meet or exceed account budget and sales targets
  • Manage pricing and inventories ensuring the highest return to growers
  • Monitor sale from beginning through to the final payment
  • Resolve problems with delivery, supply, invoicing and rejections
  • Ensure all accounts have a satisfactory completion of orders and prompt follow-up while maintaining the highest level of account satisfaction
  • Update team members on daily market conditions in respect to pricing, product quality, demand, supply, delivery schedules
  • Collaborate with others in the areas of category management, quality assurance and food safety and marketing
  • Establish high levels of record keeping accuracy and follow established guidelines 
  • Ensure customer agreements are fully understood and represent the company’s best interest
  • At least 5 years of progressive FOB sales experience
  • Experience selling fresh produce strongly preferred, onions a plus!
  • Highly skilled in developing new business and maintaining customer accounts with attention to detail, a sense of urgency and professionalism
  • Ability to keep abreast of market conditions, competitor’s products and pricing and make adjustments based on changing market conditions
  • Talented in building quality relationships with integrity and courage
  • Strong skills in networking, customer service and teamwork
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Famous Software (or similar program)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
