Job Description: 

Position Title: Director of Sales                                      
Location: California (preferred)                             
Reports To: CEO/Founder

Summary:

This position, in conjunction with the owners, will be responsible for developing domestic sales. The company will focus on avocados and its derivatives such as guacamole and oil.  We will be able to supply customers year around with more than 20 years of avocado production experience. The Director of Sales will develop the company’s sales through their existing relationships with domestic retailers and their industry experience/contacts. Central to this responsibility is the importance of morality, ethics, entrepreneurship, ownership mentality, self-motivated and ability work independently.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, domestic produce sales experience and is tired of the traditional way of doing business in the industry. The owners of this company have extensive experience in the Produce Industry with an expertise in avocados and general agribusiness. Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop profitable domestic sales through effective business development activities with existing Retail and Food Service relationships.
  • Attaining business development/sales goals set forth by the owners.
  • Build out the domestic sales business, internal processes and brand marketing.
  • Participate with hiring, training and managing new employees as the business expands
  • Monitoring sales orders and inventory.
  • Foster close working, harmonious relationships with other operational areas both internally and externally throughout the U.S. and in Mexico.
  • Responsible for your weekly, monthly, and annual sales planning. Formulate and discuss with the CEO, short and long-term sales strategies, and goals.
  • Accounts receivable and credit management.
  • Represent company in various professional environments: Asiafruit, PMA, Fruit Logistica, etc.

Requirements:

  • 5 years + domestic produce sales experience – avocado experience preferred
  • Good communication skills, computer literacy, multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced work environment, a work ethic that exhibits a sense of urgency.

Education: Bachelor's degree, preferred and/or qualifying produce industry experience.
Compensation: Base Salary D.O.E. plus annual bonus potential.
