Foodservice Sales Expert wanted

Due to the expansion of a new commodity and a robust supply chain, our client is seeking a Foodservice Sales Expert to join their team. You'll have the opportunity to develop an impressive existing book of business and bring in new accounts. The ideal candidate will help grow the foodservice business and suggest ways to enhance business practices, with the potential to build and lead a team in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow sales within existing accounts and acquire new ones through strategic planning, effective communication, and a deep understanding of customer needs.
  • Manage sales targets, territory, and budgets to achieve profitability.
  • Maintain product expertise in bell peppers, asparagus, and winter vegetables, including seasonality, pricing, and value propositions.
  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with customers’ decision makers to elevate business potential
  • Stay current on industry trends and competitor activity.
  • Represent the company at industry events and trade association meetings.
  • Analyze sales performance and market conditions to identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams (operations, logistics, marketing) for seamless customer service and order fulfillment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of successful produce sales experience with food service customers.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and growing accounts.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of the North American food service landscape.
  • Passion for fresh produce and a genuine interest in building long-term customer relationships.
  • Ability to travel (approximately up to 25% per year).
