A Central Florida grower is now seeking a Controller to lead their accounting team, develop and mentor staff, and support the financial reporting and cost accounting requirements of the multi-entity organization. In this role you will assist and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

- Oversight and guidance of accounting staff in day-to-day activities.
- Complete month end closing activities timely and accurately.
- Analysis of accounts for accuracy, completeness, and variance explanation.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages.
- Ensure inventory activities are properly recorded, inventory and cost of goods sold are valued accurately and inventory valuations are properly stated including any reserves needed.
- Prepare and present other regular or ad hoc reports and analysis for key general ledger accounts.
- Coordinate preparation of information requests and reports for outside CPA firm to meet timely filing dates for company, tax reporting and Board of Directors
- Review and approve payroll entries and related payments for payroll liabilities.
- Prepare reports for farming operations to assist management in assessing performances of each product category on a crop year basis.
- Coordinate cash tracking and forecasting process including cash balances with availability, projecting cash receipts, customer collections, debt payments or borrowings, vendor and grower payments, and other cash activities.
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting with Ag experience preferred.
- Ag accounting software knowledge with “Famous” software preferred.
- 7+ years’ experience in an accounting role.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office, with emphasis in Excel.
- Keen attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness, deadlines, planning, organization, and communication.
- Bilingual English-Spanish a plus.
