An independent citrus packing, cold storage, and shipping facility in the Fresno/Visalia area is searching for a Facility Maintenance Manager. The company is family owned and operated with roots going back over 100 years of farming, packing, and sales of fresh fruits. We are currently in a growth trajectory expanding our currently packing operations of mandarin and lemon varieties to all types of citrus. As a family run operation, successful candidates will have a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities.
We have an immediate opening for a Facility Maintenance Manager who will report directly to the Operations Manager as well as interface with the CEO to help develop annual budgets, identify and assess capital projects and help implement those projects, and keep all equipment running optimally by managing and working hands on with the maintenance crew.
As a family run operation, successful candidates will have a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities. The successful candidate will be a hands-on manager of a team of maintenance staff to maintain and devise efficiencies within the packing system in compliance with safety, food safety, fruit quality, and production requirements.
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
- Valid California’s Driver’s License and insurable.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Managerial skills – able to teach, direct, monitor and assess others.
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance and repairs of a fresh produce packing facility.
- Knowledge of electrical motors, hydraulics, welding, fabrication and schematic drawings.
- Willingness to work long hours when necessary and respond immediately.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Team player with good work ethic.
- Verbal and written communication skills with employees, management, and vendors.
- Regular required to walk, use hands and fingers to feel/grasp.
- Reach with both hands and arms.
- Able to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Able to perform tasks that require stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, pulling, and pushing.
- Worked performed in wet environment, cold storage, outside weather conditions, uneven walking surfaces, among operating equipment and forklifts, chemicals, and loud noise.
- Ability to solve complex problems quickly and efficiently.
