Job Description: 

We are an established company operating in Yuma, AZ. and Salinas, CA. We provide agricultural labor needs and custom harvesting for our customers, creating value for farmers while maintaining a safe and professional program­­. We service every major food level, providing operational support functions to our customers. Our staff is incredibly dedicated, and we are looking to build onto that team.

We are looking for high-energy, professional that is passionate about agriculture, cost analysis, planning and managing daily operations in a very fast paced environment. If you are a multi- tasker with incredible customer service and strong managerial skills, then this is the role for you.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Monitor that all crews, personnel and equipment are being used in the most efficient manner to minimize cost.
  • Interaction with Shippers, Growers, Customers to ensure quality and productivity needs are being obtained.
  • Through compliance, staff ensure that Foremen, Supervisors, laborers are in compliance with all State and Federal Labor Laws.
  • Ensure that Foremen and Supervisors have received training and understand new hire registration procedures.
  • Monitor the recruitment, hiring and training of Field Managers, Foreman, Supervisors, Mechanics and other personnel as needed.
  • Through local industry networking, identify potential economic opportunities and submit operational proposals for approval.
  • Evaluate operational tasks being offered to customers and determine those that have the potential for expansion and those that have limited economic viability.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with Managers, Office Staff, Foremen and Supervisors; providing them with constructive feedback on their time and attendance submissions, quality and quantity of work being performed, and obtaining information from them about the general labor pool environment.
  • Ensure that the Safety Program and culture, as outlined by Safety Manager, of the Company is aggressively followed.
  • In conjunction with departmental managers, work with outside agencies to strive to reduce the company’s losses in workers compensation and general liability.
  • Working with Workers Comp Administrator, and Safety Director, strive to reduce the Company’s Workers Compensation Insurance MOD Rate.
  • Develop and implement a security plan to protect all Company capital assets and operational supplies.
  • Visit crews, through interaction with crew members ensure that they have a safe working environment free from harassment or any undue treatment by any other crew member or Company management personnel.
  • Inspect crews for compliance with the Company’s Good Agriculture Practices Program (GAPP); provide on the spot correction to any violation and notify the Safety Manager with the violation and corrective action taken so that effective follow-up training can be scheduled.
  • In conjunction with CFO, develop management tools, reports and systems to facilitate timely feedback to Managers on costs.
  • Contract development and negotiation with Clients.
  • In conjunction with office staff, monitor and ensure all regulatory requirements are met for all aspects of the company. DOT, IRS, Federal and State Licenses to name a few.
  • Develop and, along with staff, monitor all customer contracts.
  • Work with HR Department to ensure the recruitment needs are met through local and H2A recruitment.
  • Work with Accounting to make sure all billing process are being done in accordance to contracts.
  • Direct and enforce procedures and policies of the company’s operations within the region.
  • Review Accounts Receivable on a weekly basis and contact customers for payment on outstanding receivables.
  • Lead in developing a Strategic Plan for all Operational area(s).
  • Responsible for the profitability of operations.
  • Participation in owners financial and strategic planning meetings.
  • Ensuring that all policies and regulations are explained to personnel and enforced.
  • Developing and monitoring reports for daily, weekly, monthly productivity.
  • Working with Shop Managers in developing maintenance standards and procedures.
  • Strategic planning of equipment purchases for operational needs.
Qualifications: 
  • Knowledge of agricultural methods, practices and equipment; knowledge of spreadsheets, company accounting software, word processing; initiative to develop new procedures to make field work processes more efficient; computer literate in Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel;10-key by touch; ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in.
  • the performance of required duties. Have the ability to travel up to 50% of the time to remote operations during peak seasons. Clean DMV driving record. 
Education: 
  • Four-year college degree, preferably in Ag Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Over 10 years’ of progressive experience with agricultural field operations and harvesting that would provide the level of knowledge and ability required for the position.
Skills: 
  • “Field Level” Spanish.
  • Mathematics acumen.
  • Strong analytical/numbers capabilities and problem solving capabilities.
