D & J Packing, LLC is a family-run business with more than thirty (30) years of harvesting experience in the Salinas Valley/Yuma Arizona area.
We have an immediate opportunity for a full time H2A Program Coordinator to join our team in Salinas, CA.
The H2A Program Coordinator will be responsible for all compliance issues related to H2A employee housing as related to harvesting operations for Salinas CA and Yuma AZ. In this role, you will be working closely with the H2A Manager to ensure our company is following all U.S. Dept. of labor rules, regulations and procedures regarding the Agricultural Worker’s program (H2A).
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management (or related field), from an accredited institution or at least 3 to 4 years prior work experience managing and administering an H2A, or similar, immigration program.
- Problem Solver
- Self-motivated
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to research and familiarize oneself with complex laws, regulations and programs along with the comprehension and execution of such items.
- Excellent communication (i.e. written and verbal), interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to travel between California, Arizona and Mexico as needed.
- Must be bi-lingual (English and Spanish).
- Must be assertive and persistent as well as professional to get the job done when working with employees.
- Knowledge of plumbing, building maintenance, electrical and housing safety a plus
- Property Management and maintenance skill a plus
- Knowledge of agriculture production, harvesting, farm labor contractor business a plus
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a background check
