JOB FILLED - Payroll Coordinator

Job Description: 

D&J Packing, LLC is a well-established, harvesting company in the Salinas Valley. We are looking for a Payroll Coordinator to join our team. Under the direction of the Controller, the Payroll Coordinator will assist and support in the achievement of Company short and long-term goals and objectives.

This is a full-time, hourly position, in the office Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm unless additional work is assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy of timesheets
  • Agricultural piece-rate and hourly payroll system experience and knowledge
  • Calculate, compute and code timesheets
  • Perform customer service duties: answer telephones; problem solves with employees; help foremen with questions and paperwork; assist visitors
  • Maintain employee files
  • Perform annual record retention review and help with year-end process
  • File documents
  • Act as interpreter
  • Register new hire employees
  • Revise/update hiring documents as needed
  • Set up new employee files
  • Prepare source data for computer entry
  • Review and code vendor invoices
  • Perform other related duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • 2 year’s work history
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Experience with Famous a plus
  • Knowledge of Farm Labor Crew data input
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office (excel use up to 90%).
  • Demonstrate initiative and willingness to help others
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Pleasant attitude, “team player”, professional demeanor
  • Must be bilingual (English – Spanish)
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail

Education

  • High school diploma
