Dole Fresh Fruit Company is seeking a District Sales Manager to join our team in Crum Lynne, PA.

Responsible for managing sales and establishing sales techniques and strategies in order to ensure consistent and profitable growth in sales revenues and volume goals as well as maintaining daily business with existing accounts and developing new business opportunities as the markets avail for all North America.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develop and manage strategic plans and projects, budget, volume and revenue objectives, ensuring targets were met while controlling sales initiatives, in order to achieve budgeted goals.
  • Manage sales strategy by forecasting future demands, volume and revenue projections to ensure compliance of the department’s strategic objectives.
  • Expand sales opportunities within their district by growing and maintaining solid relationships with existing and new customers, to comply and increase sales goals.
  • Manage the day-to-day contact and resolve customers and carrier issues by addressing potential problems and suggesting prompt solutions, to meet their requirements and assure   customer satisfaction.
  • Seek innovative methods to increase sales, by monitoring the market and keep up-to-date on trends, to strengthen the Dole label.
  • Builds Market intelligence, by analyzing the competition and market conditions as regards to supply and demand, to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Manage portfolio and review accounts receivables to achieve minimal days outstanding on payments.
  • Conduct retail store audits when scheduled and/or when needed, ensuring that the stores under their supervision comply with the company and industry regulations.
  • Negotiate weekly pricing and volume with assigned customers (non-contract accounts), to achieve sales objectives.
  • Perform product allocation when demand exceeds supply, handling and processing of sales allowances, in order to increase sales revenues. 
  • Manage customers’ order entry systems, by creating sales orders for customers, assign carriers, and manage daily changes.
  • Conduct weekly market checks/quality report and ranking, to evaluate sales initiatives and identify profitability.
Education: 
  • B.S. degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to travel, be stationary for long periods of time, stoop, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs., drive a car, utilize standard office equipment including phone, computer, PDA.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts preferred/required.
  • Moderate travel required.
Skills: 
  • Coordinate deliveries of customers product when needed; to coordinate sales demand with sourcing volumes.
  • Discuss where market and selling prices will be.
  • Work to resolve customer aging, customer claims and grower financials.
  • Daily interaction with customer to communicate pricing, availability, problem solve and forward plan.
  • Manage the day-to-day contact and resolve carrier issues by addressing potential problems and suggesting prompt solutions, to meet their requirements.
  • Job Specific Competencies (Knowledge, Skill And Experience Requirements).
  • 5 years Sales experience; produce sales experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of excel is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of pineapple quality criteria, defects, and factors that cause defects.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Must be able to understand customer product demands and update forecasting systems appropriately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and product development. Excellent knowledge of deciduous or grapes quality criteria, defects, and factors that cause defects.
