Easterday Farms Produce Company is a family-owned and operated farming business. We believe that the size of our business is a unique balance between the economy and efficiency of scale and the attention to detail necessary for customer satisfaction. We are a proud grower, packer, and shipper of conventionally raised onions and potatoes.

We are currently looking for a Transportation Manager to join our team. This position is located at our fresh pack onion facility in Pasco, Washington.

As the Transportation Manager at Easterday Farms Produce Company, tasks include organizing all aspects of the transportation process of our fresh onions and potatoes. This includes maintaining spreadsheets, knowledge of the market, and supporting the sales department.

Requirements: 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in transportation
  • Applicant should be organized and have a fine attention to detail
  • Accuracy on paperwork and instructions is paramount
  • Proficient math skills
  • Should have exceptional communication skills and Microsoft Office software proficiency
  • Multi-day business travels a few times a year, possibly more
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude even in times of stress
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience with transportation logistics preferred but not required
  • AA in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain preferred but not required
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Planning and managing in-company transfers of product and packaging between warehouses in Pasco, WA, Othello, WA, and Elkton, FL
  • Tracking and predicting trends in the transportation industry allowing for sales department to quickly respond to customer needs
  • Scheduling appointments at customer facilities and tracking loads through to these appointments ensuring on time delivery
  • Building, tracking, and rating our expanding list of carriers and transportation companies
  • Tracking and resolving transportation claims such as short deliveries or damage caused to product in transit
  • Working closely with our Shipping Department and Farm Managers to determine proper shipping environment (shipping temperatures, and ventilation), truck cleanliness and capabilities, and overall load security (load locks, seals, temperature recorders, etc.)
  • Assisting sales department when transportation needs are slow
