Job Description: 

First Fruits Farms seeks an experienced Human Resources Director to manage our diverse organization.  Ideal candidate will have education and experience in management, training, team building, and working across cultures.  

The HR Director is part of the leadership team and supervises the Human Resources Department, which provides its services to managers and staff of FirstFruits Farms and FirstFruits Community.

The Department seeks to promote a company culture of caring and compassion through servant leadership and trauma-informed care.  This position reports to the CEO of FirstFruits Farms.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

Strategic Planning & Annual Objectives.  With the CEO, establish strategic goals that maximize the capacities of all managers within the organizations.  Further, with HR Department leaders, establish and implement annual performance objectives based on this larger goal, identify opportunities to leverage cross-program strengths, and develop strong communication and collaboration.  

Departmental Oversight: Responsible for the overall success of a multi-disciplinary HR Department inclusive of:

  • Payroll
  • Employee Benefits
  • Worker’s Compensation
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Workforce Development
  • Refugee-to-work Program
  • Workforce Recruitment and Coordination (including H2a programming)
  • Workforce Development
  • Communications
  • Company culture-building through training and development

Supervision and Training:

  • Mentor Department leaders. 
  • Develop shared accountabilities, priorities, training strategies, and conduct annual performance appraisals.
  • Coach HR Department leaders as they implement strategic plans, adapt program operations to emerging circumstances.

Professional Development. 

  • Hold HR staff to their own professional development plans, ensuring those plans are in unison with the strategic direction, vision and values of the organization.

Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Develop and implement a system for tracking that provides organizational-wide indicators as to the progress of the strategic plan implementation and its impact on participants.
  • Ensure HR program goals align and are accountable to those same measures.
  • Assume fiscal responsibility for staffing, budgets under HR’s core goals.
  • Innovation: Work with CEO and core leaders to identify and implement innovations and key strategies to ensure continued growth and success.

 Budgets and Finances:

  • Assume fiscal responsibility for staffing, budgets under HR’s core goals.

  • Work with CEO and core leaders to identify and implement innovations and key strategies to ensure continued growth and success. 

Qualifications: 
  • B.A./B.S. in related field.
  • 5 years+ supervisory experience in Human Resources.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience.
  • Monitoring and evaluations skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working across cultures.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
  • Experience with H2a non-resident visa programs (preferred).
