Andrew and Sons (Hapco Farms, Freshouse, A.D.S Management) located in West Hampton, NY provides full-service produce solutions. We provide our customers with quality produce and premier customer service in Sales, grower relationships, warehouse services, and more.  We are an approved co-packer of many national brands and private labels.  Our portfolio of fresh produce customers includes major retailers, independents, distributors, national accounts and manufacturers.

We are seeking a Sales Manager to cultivate and nurture our business within the Retail and Food Service channels.  The ideal candidate will have an established track record of dealing with all channels of distribution. This position was created to focus on our current channels and also expand and grow our foodservice business.  This is an exceptional opportunity to join a rapidly growing produce company. It is vital that candidates who apply for this position can demonstrate a proven track record of generating new business. Having established business relationships is strongly desired!

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Responsible for marketing, promoting, buying and selling fresh produce products.
  • Responsible for developing new business, penetrate existing accounts, and reduce lost business to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Maintain and grow established customer base. 
  • Develop new leads in retail and food service to expand our sales.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Respond to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments and deadlines.
  • Assist in building brand recognition and help design, create and implement programs which will result in brand growth.
  • Lead other sales staff in sales objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales team on strategy and program planning and implementation.
Requirements: 
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • This position requires 30% travel and can include travel outside the local area and overnight.

Qualifications:

  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Education: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience selling produce to national retailers and foodservice customers and other channels.
  • Knowledge of produce business, including organic produce.
  • Proven success managing customer relationships and providing outstanding customer service.
  • Established customer base and large number of industry contacts is desirable.
  • A solid record in increasing sales and establishing new accounts is a must.
  • Self-starter with the passion and determination to work hard to meet or exceed goals.
