Job Description:
We have an immediate opening for a Buyer to join our team in Sacramento, CA.
Primary Purpose: The Buyer purchases merchandise and commodities for resale. This position will focus on developing additional product lines such as cheese, dairy and other fresh products, in addition to produce.
Sample of Essential Functions:
- Inventory, develop and order quantity that minimizes shortages and out of stocks. Interpret product movement to maximize product turns.
- Verify and monitor that the merchandise purchased is in compliance with the agreed terms and specifications of the purchases that they have negotiated.
- Have a working relationship with our internal Quality Control Department staff and work with them to resolve any quality issues as they may arise.
To be successful, you will need:
- Current produce license to purchase produce. No PACA restrictions on that license.
- Effective written and oral communications.
- Proficient in Windows-based computer applications and computer research skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to be available after hours via phone to answer questions and problem solve.
- Ability to perform the primary functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

- High School graduate required and at least three years’ experience in the produce and/or broadline industry.
