JOB FILLED - Director of Construction Operations

Job Description: 

Position is responsible for the management leadership, and coordination of construction operations within the Construction Division including the supervision of the Fabrication, Dirt Management, and General Construction departments. 


  • College degree in Business, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or comparable Engineering Technology or Business discipline, preferred. Extensive management experience within these fields will be considered in lieu of a degree. 
  • Minimum of eight (8) years proven management experience within general construction and/or civil construction industry.  
  • Possession of an active General Contractors license, preferred. 
  • Extensive working knowledge of general contracting disciplines including ground-up construction, civil earthwork, foundations, walls, ceiling systems, fabrication, general plumbing and electrical, and associated permitting requirements. 
  • Proven experience with project management employee workflow, manufacturing processes, and related business support systems.  
  • Have working knowledge of food processing facilities and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), preferred 
  • Willing to travel one to five days per month depending on the season. Travel will be both local and/or out of state.  
  • Must be organized with proven multi-tasking capabilities.  
  • Good listener and team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Remote work not available for this position. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record. 
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation. 


  • Efficiently manage company’s Construction Operations departments including the General Construction, Dirt Management, and Fabrication teams.  
  • Coordinate all activities with outside contractors hired by the Construction Division. Act as liaison between outside contractors and all inter-company operations (Production, Maintenance, etc.)
  • Provide vision, mentoring and coaching to department managers & supervisors. • Develop and oversee the scheduling, purchasing, project management, and quality assurance functions within each department.  
  • Implement continuous improvement programs and incorporate industry best practices for shop and job  site operations including the use of information systems to streamline workflow, scheduling, and labor  tracking functions  
  • Work with department managers and supervisors to create robust employee safety programs, and skill training programs to promote worker excellence and continuous skill development.  • Responsible for department capital expense and annual maintenance budgets.  
  • Active participant on division’s senior leadership team – contribute to the overall vision and direction for the division. 
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relations across the company and promote the value of the Construction Support Operations team.  
  • Provide other management duties, as assigned. 

Ability to frequently move about outdoors, inside the office and food processing facilities (including stairs and walking in uneven surfaces). Ability to inspect equipment and product. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment. Operating hand and power tools, working on equipment that is elevated or low to the ground. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 105° F and as cold as 20° F). Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to move items weighing up to 75 lbs.
