We have a great opportunity for a Ranch Manager to join our team in our Westmorland, CA location.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of farm management experience required, including the supervision of labor and direct involvement in the business side of the industry.
- Position requires employee to work in Imperial Valley or immediate surrounding area.
- Some travel may be required depending on business needs.
- The successful candidate must have strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
- Must be computer literate.
- Some overnight travel may be required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean DMV driving record.
- Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical, and functional capacity evaluation.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- The Ranch Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and directing a team of permanent employees and contracted employees.
- Timely completion of records on the crops including types of fertilizer used, sprays, wet dates, harvest dates, pesticides applied, varieties and irrigation schedules.
- Determine timing and coordination of fertilization, irrigation, and spraying of crops.
- Coordinating and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and guidelines.
Education:
- Four-year college degree in a related major preferred but not required in lieu of direct experience.
Skills:
- Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred.
