Our current opportunity is for a Berry Buyer to join our team in Prunedale, CA.
In this role, you will be responsible for procuring, selecting, inspecting, and purchasing berries for sale while maintaining optimum inventory levels to fulfill customer demand and service levels. Produce Buyers are expected to locate supply sources, develop grower relationships, negotiate pricing, secure freight, analyze buying trends and understand market conditions to meet company objectives.
This includes building and maintaining customer and vendor relations and managing purchasing decisions to ensure 100% on-time delivery of the best quality products at a competitive cost. You will negotiate pricing and volumes with vendors and coordinate and manage transportation as needed. This position will require some travel to visit suppliers and industry events.

Demonstrated knowledge of produce commodities, vendors, market pricing factors, quality indicators, and PACA laws.

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office programs).

Experience in produce and berry knowledge is a plus.
