Job Description: 

Marengo Foods Company, LLC was formed in August of 2009 as a partnership between three well established growers.

This partnership was the result of continuous improvement studies and statistical analysis that showed us the need to come closer to our customers in order to bring the freshest and safest product to the consumer and also the need to do this in the most efficient and cost effective way.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Daily programmed sales to customers in the USA and Canada (Retailers, Foodservice, Distributors, and Wholesalers)
  • Daily follow up on Accounts Receivable aging, and subsequent collecting activities from customers
  • Being on time every day. Following the department’s schedule is very important for this position and the company
  • Constant follow up on programmed offerings / contracts / ads to customers
  • Weekly report on duties and activities to the sales supervisors
  • The most important traits we require: Proactive, focused, self-motivated and problem solving individual who is up to the challenge of the produce industry with the demanding workload and dynamic environment with constant changes
  • Establishing new business
  • Maintaining good relationships with current business
  • Organizing sales visits
  • Attending trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings
  • Reviewing sales performances
  • Negotiating contract sales
  • Aiming to achieve weekly, monthly and annual goals on an individual and company basis
  • Recommended 2 years of professional experience in Fresh Produce Sales or Sales
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Programs (I.e. Excel, word, and Outlook.)
  • Strong quantitative and communication skills (i.e. oral and written)
  • Able to work on Saturdays
  • Able to travel 20% of the time
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 Year of Experience

  • Using a computer application to manage large amounts of information, including creating and editing simple databases, inputting data, retrieving specific records, and creating reports to communicate the information
  • Using a computer application to create, manipulate, edit, and show virtual slide presentations
  • Using scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to work within the computer's operating system. Being able to access and switch between applications and files of interest
  • Using a computer application to enter, manipulate, and format text and numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and columns; and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs
  • Using a computer application to type text, insert pictures, format, edit, print, save, and retrieve word processing documents
