Job Description: 

PalliaTech, Inc. is a rapidly expanding, multi-state medical cannabis company dedicated to the needs of its patients. The Purchasing Manager will manage the wholesale and retail purchasing for the Maryland processing site and dispensary. This position reports into the General Manager, MD and will be based in Reisterstown, MD.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage the wholesale and retail purchasing of medical cannabis for the Maryland dispensary and processing sites.
  • Evaluate quality of medical cannabis flower and finished product.
  • Reach out to cultivation sites in Maryland and develop relationships with other processing sites.
  • Examine, evaluate, select, order, or purchase merchandise consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements.
  • Negotiate prices, package, deals, discount terms, contracts, and transportation arrangements with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with vendors to obtain or develop desired products.
  • Work closely with the Dispensary Manager and processing team (Lab Manager).
  • Buy merchandise or commodities for resale to wholesale or retail consumers.
  • Recommend mark-up rates, markdown rates, or merchandise selling prices.
  • Obtain information about customer needs or preferences by conferring with sales or purchasing personnel.
  • Authorize payment of invoices or return of merchandise.
  • Compare transportation options to determine the most energy efficient options. 
  • Monitor and analyze sales records, trends, or economic conditions to anticipate consumer buying patterns and determine what the company will sell and how much inventory is needed.
  • Inspect merchandise or products to determine quality, value, or yield.
  • Consult with General Manager and Dispensary Manager about budgets or goods to be purchased.
  • Travel within Maryland will be required.
Requirements: 
  • BA degree and 5 years’ experience in purchasing wholesale and retail
  • Knowledgeable about purchasing management processes
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Energy and endurance
