And we invite you to Come Grow With Us as a Health and Food Safety Assistant in our Huron, OH facility.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Implement and maintain company health and food safety objectives
  • Documentation development and implementation as it pertains to health and food safety
  • Conduct internal audits of facilities and employee practices
  • Collect samples and coordinate with external laboratory for testing
  • Conduct new hire orientation
  • Maintain health and food safety logs and records
  • Coordinate and conduct training sessions for all employees regarding occupational safety practices and legislation
  • In conjunction with the JHSC, conduct inspections of greenhouses, packinghouses and bunkhouses to ensure compliance to OSHA
Qualifications: 
  • Solid understanding of food safety and occupational safety regulations and standards (FDA, OSHA, GFSI)
  • Solid understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Creative, adaptable and able to accurately handle out of the ordinary issues with a sense of urgency
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or a related technical field
  • Strong ability to lead a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Preferred certifications include: HACCP, PCQI
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
