Job Description: 

Nature’s Produce distributes the finest product that Mother Nature has to offer. We are seeking an Controller/Bookkeeper to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and have knowledge of cost accounting principles.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Oversee and participate in the monthly, quarterly and annual close, guaranteeing efficient and accurate, financial results
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Oversight of GL functions including variance analysis, preparation and review of journal entries, and preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee and perform, various cost accounting functions
  • Propose and implement strategies to improve efficiencies
  • Work with team on budget and forecasting activities
  • Continuously develop, improve and implement procedures that will improve efficiencies within the department
  • Other projects as needed
Requirements: 
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, standard cost required
  • Produce/agriculture industry experience is ideal but not necessary
