Job Description: 
Oakes Farms Food & Distribution Services LLC is a young and growing company and expanding into Alabama.
 
We are currently seeking a Shipping and Receiving Manager to coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments.
 
Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Oversee warehouse, shipping and receiving operations, and logistics
  • Manage shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
  • Supervise warehouse personnel and schedule staff for optimal coverage
  • Maintains vehicle maintenance report
  • Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states
  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
  • Prepares bills of lading, records unfilled orders, and posts weight and shipping charges
  • Updates sales team on product inventory
  • Maintains a safe work environment
  • Builds positive relationships and effectively works with other internal departments and external partners
  • 6 day per week operation
Requirements:
  • 5+ years’ experience including shipping, receiving, and warehouse experience with 2+ years in a supervisory / management role
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, routes, and rates
  • Frozen/refrigerated product experience preferred
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack and forklift (forklift certification a plus)
  • Understanding inventory count/stock rotation processes
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for warehousing and logistics operations, and safety
  • Ability to work in cold- conditions
  • Able to Lift/ Carry 55 pounds/ Standing, walking, bending, kneeling & reaching for extended periods of time
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • HACCP Certified preferred
