Title: Regional Director of Program Sales (3 roles open)

ProducePay is looking for a sales leader to grow our Marketplace with end-buyers of fresh produce. As Director of Western/Central/Eastern Program Sales, your primary focus will be to recruit and onboard enterprise customers and fundamentally change how they procure fresh produce. Your work will help to rapidly increase liquidity and transaction volume in our growing Marketplace.

This role will require a deep understanding of bulk purchasing and programmatic sales of fresh produce. This position will have direct engagement with fresh produce buyers, including retailers, distributors, wholesalers, brokers, processors, CPG companies, online direct-to-consumer brands, and foodservice providers. Applicants should have a deep understanding of sourcing, category management, supply management, and fresh produce sales cycles. It is important that applicants understand a wide array of commodity types, and the nuances of sourcing different commodities from different regions (both domestic and international). Finally, applicants should have a track record of successfully selling to customers with $100M+ in revenue and a demonstrated ability to manage enterprise accounts.

The Director of Program Sales will report to the VP of North America Program Sales. This high-visibility position will require a mastery of solution-based selling, and owning the end-to-end sales process for enterprise marketplace accounts.

Responsibilities:
The Director(s) of Program Sales will manage multiple enterprise accounts across the end-to-end sales process within their respective regions. Directors will spend a majority of their time prospecting, cultivating, pitching, closing and managing new accounts. This position will need to be comfortable selling new, customized products. Successful Sales Directors will need to leverage their existing relationships and invest in building new relationships with customers.

This position requires frequent travel to visit customers across their assigned territory and to sales conventions. In addition to working with the broader sales team, this position will need to work collaboratively with technology, operations, and marketing. This position will have immediate and frequent exposure to the Chief Commercial Officer and CEO.

Requirements:

  • 10-15 years of demonstrated success selling fresh produce programs to enterprise customers, including international, national, or multi-state retailers, manufacturers, processors, and/or wholesalers
  • Experience selling multiple commodities from multiple growing regions
  • Repeated success in long-sales cycles, with demonstrated performance cultivating and winning new business within major accounts
  • A high-energy leader with a strong work ethic and willingness to work cross-functionally
  • Experience in a purchasing or operating role at a distributor/wholesaler or large retailer is preferred but not required
  • A strong network of professional relationships within the fresh produce industry
  • Demonstrated ability to sell new products and programs
  • Date-driven
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus
