Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment and facilities
  • Dismantles and reassembles production equipment for cleaning
  • Uses chemicals according to company guidelines and safe practices

The Sanitation Tech will ensure that the walnut processing plant is maintained and compliant with food safety regulations. Sanitation experience is preferred for this position, in addition to having the following qualities/abilities/experience will help to ensure the success of a prospective employee:

  • Hard-working, dedicated and punctual individual with a strong desire to learn
  • Team-work oriented
  • Aerial Lift and/or forklift experience
  • Knowledge of GMP's and HACCP
  • Understanding of and compliance with safety practices such as Lock-out/Tag-out, wearing of PPE, and GHS
  • Ability to use various types of cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, floor scrubbers, buckets, scrub pads and air compressor hoses
  • Ability to read procedures and safety information in English (required)
  • Ability to write in English to document sanitation duties completed (required)
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Ability to work a swing shift of 4pm - 12:30am

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and kneel
  • Must be able to walk throughout the facility
  • Must be able to scrub and wipe by hand miscellaneous equipment and items

Pay, Schedule and Benefits

  • Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour commensurate with experience
  • Overtime and weekends may be required
  • Benefits - Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits + 401(k) w/employer match, education reimbursement, Paid Time Off
