JOB FILLED - Sales and Operations Manager

Job Description: 
Square One Starts is looking for a Sales & Operations Manager to join our California team. This is a fantastic opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new business focused on propagating quality Hemp seedlings and clones. SOS is part of a family owned horticulture heritage that is in its 120th year.  Located in Watsonville, California, just south of Santa Cruz, this position will be responsible for driving the hemp starts business throughout the Southwest with a focus on sales, planning, and execution. This position will work closely with customers and all internal departments to ensure a quality product is shipped on time.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Build strong relationships with the customers with a focus on structured and timely follow up
  • Drive increased volume and re-orders thru successful order management and execution of both starts and mature plant programs
  • Seek out and acquire new customers in cooperation with EVP
  • Develop sales presentations and negotiate new contracts
  • Trade show leadership regionally and participation nationally as needed
  • Work closely with internal departments (Customer Service, Production, Growing, Inventory, Fulfillment and Transportation) to ensure high quality plants and on-time deliveries
  • Manage growing space supply vs. order demand by week to ensure optimal use of space and accurate order acknowledgements to customers
  • Consult and assist with operational readiness with regards to equipment, supplies, systems and SOP’s.
  • Oversee and coordinate weekly seed/clone receiving and shipping of field-ready starts
Qualifications: 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to successfully coordinate between external and internal contacts in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and negotiations skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to create and deliver professional and persuasive presentations to customers
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Minimum 6 years of operations or account management experience Agriculture or Horticultural industry experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture or Horticulture preferred
  • Willingness to travel
