Job Description: 

With approximately 30,000 acres in California, Sun Pacific is the largest grower/shipper of navel oranges in the world, the largest grower/shipper of kiwi in North America, the 2nd largest grower/shipper of mandarins in North America, the largest tomato grower in California and renown for high quality table grapes. Our core focus is on farming, providing us with deep expertise in every aspect of growing these crops, including all cultural aspects, pest control, irrigation technologies and specialized equipment use, all tied together with sophisticated information system.

 Sun Pacific is looking for a harvesting coordinator/quality coordinator for its Cuties® harvesting operations to schedule, coordinate, supervise and monitor harvesting; work closely with management and farm labor contractors to communicate and coordinate harvesting schedule, locations and ensure quality of harvest; and, monitor and report field conditions to ensure timely and thorough harvesting, as well as avoid harvesting delays. 6+ months exp. in citrus farming and/or harvesting, or equivalent experience, desired. Must be able to work extensive hours and weekends and travel throughout southern San Joaquin Valley.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Scheduling, coordinating, supervising and monitoring all harvesting functions
  • Monitoring and reporting quality of fresh fruit
  • Ensuring accurate projections and harvest scheduling
  • Position requires seasonal travel throughout southern San Joaquin Valley
  • Communicate and ensure harvesting plans and quality of work to Farm Labor Contractors
  • Ensure field is safe and ready before harvesting
  • Ensure safe harvesting practices are followed, proper equipment is utilized, and all food safety guidelines are adhered by harvesting crews
  • Maintain company issued truck clean and presentable
  • Give direction, display leadership and guidance and promote teamwork within the labor force
  • Ensure harvesting pick quality meets harvesting standards, and ensure no fruit is left behind by harvesters
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Skills: 
  • Ability and willingness to work long hours, evenings, weekends and holidays during harvest time
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities and tasks
  • Ability to comprehend, read, write and communicate proficiently and interact with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to abide by Company employment, safety, and food safety policies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment near moving machinery, equipment and vehicles in the field
  • Ability to report to work early in the morning, work extensive hours and weekends, and be very flexible as needed by varying seasonal production schedules
Qualifications: 
  • At least six (6) months experience and knowledge of production agriculture, farming and/or harvesting
  • Ability to work under pressure and exercise good judgement and behavior
  • Maintain a professional appearance on an off the field
  • Possession of a CDL and an acceptable driving record insurable by the Company’s insurance policy
  • Consistently report to work on time and be ready to work at the established start time
