Job Description: 

We at Terra Exports have developed a small but growing berry business over the past 5 years and are looking for an experienced broker to come in and drive its growth.  We have a solid foundation of suppliers and customers already in place. Bringing in your network to mesh with our existing network will allow for quick growth of the category. Playing field is very open as most of our business currently revolves around avocados. Can be a very lucrative position for a self-starter with aspirations to quickly advance their career.  This position is a remote, work from home with a competitive pay structure based on experience. We are open to negotiations for the right fit!

Responsibilities & Duties: 

  • Identify, establish, then grow berry sales in the US Domestic market.
  • Develop business using your existing network alongside new leads to build a customer base.
  • Work with internal sourcing team and new potential suppliers for optimal procurement strategy.
  • Provide superior customer service to customers.
  • Track and analyze customer sales history and purchasing trends.
  • Attend industry and customer specific trade shows, conferences, and meeting with prospective and existing customers.
  • You must be a culture fit for our company (this is extremely important):

  • Understand how important reputation is in this industry.
  • Treat everyone with respect and empathy – don’t be an asshole!
  • You must have 3- 5 years of sales experience in the berry industry in the USA. Preferably with experience working for a grower/shipper and distributor/trader. 
  • Come with an established network of contacts to quickly jump start and develop the category.
  • English proficiency is required, and multi-lingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply!
  • This is a sales role, so if you do not enjoy making money, this position is not for you.
  • It is extremely important that you are self-motivated and do not require constant supervision or micro-managing.

While this is a remote position, your ability to travel to visit clients and attend trade shows is very important.

A competitive pay structure is negotiable. Salary and/or commission based on experience.
