Job Description: 

Based in beautiful Portland, OR, Twin River South is an importer and marketer of blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries from Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Mexico. We are passionate about responsibly grown; high quality berries grown by farmers practicing fair labor practices! Our small team consists of five dedicated team members, who are self-motivated and have a passion for produce and the source of all our products. We are highly involved from the ground up, whether within our organization or with the grower operations that supply us. We ship from Oregon, Washington, California, Texas, Florida, Georgia, and New Jersey to customers across North America. 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant desiring a full-time career opportunity. The employee must be detail oriented, professional-minded, and always maintain a professional image. Must be honest, trustworthy and respectful of self and others and demonstrate a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Management and review of general ledger. 
  • Responsible for period-end close accounting. 
  • Prepare year end & quarterly financial statements. 
  • Assist in the annual budget process. 
  • Responsible for various account reconciliations. 
  • Contribute to developing processes to streamline timely reporting of financial information. 
  • Weekly Analytics reporting
  • Reconcile purchase orders and enter proper quantities from purchasing department.
  • Send packing slips and product arrivals into cooling facilities daily.
  • Research and resolve AP invoice issues.
  • Manage AP/AR
  • Payroll
  • Review/update daily receiving entries for warehouse in inventory system
  • Create 3rd party grower payables and verify payments are being made within 14 days.
  • Maintains historical records by scanning all tickets, invoices etc…backup into the accounting system and company drives.
  • Various account analysis as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Extremely limited travel for farm level education
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Technology savvy with fluency in MS Office and accounting related software.
  • Paperless environment experience preferred.
  • Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and responsibility.
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality regarding critical and sensitive information. 
  • Agribusiness experience helpful, but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting from four-year College 3+ years of related work experience.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of financial reporting. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Must learn how to proficiently learn ERP system
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. 
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
