Job Description:
The GL Accountant will apply GAAP principles of accounting to analyze critical financial data information and prepare financial reports by performing the duties shown below.
Here's what you'll do:
- Oversee Lease Accounting under ASC 842
- Assist and manage data related to fixed assets
- Secure highly sensitive and confidential financial data and information with critical attention to detail
- Assist with audits and reporting packages for the RF Citrus Ranches, WC Holdings, and Cooperatives
- Perform: month-end GL entries for both trust entities and Wonderful Citrus entities | monthly variance analysis of Mexico financial statements | retail inventory and cash on hand audit | account reconciliation for balance sheet accounts | all necessary monthly wire payments for Citrus Trust entities | all related party entries
- Prepare and issue: monthly accrual reports and create accrual JE as appropriate | quarterly intercompany confirmations and audit confirmations as specified by KPMG auditors
- Create and maintain recurring journal entries
- Maintain: all mass allocation entries | Revolving Promissory Note with affiliates by recording monthly interest accruals | cash accounts and coordinate excess cash under the Revolving Promissory Note with affiliates | intercompany confirmation receipts and tie out balances | line-of-credit accounts to ensure appropriate funds are available for monthly operating expenses
- Reconcile and record revenue, COGS, and inventory for onsite cafes |
- Prepare and review translation and revaluation of Mexico financials
- Reconcile: MXN ledger to USD ledger | monthly airplane expenses and aviation accruals | monthly elimination entries | payroll journals in the general ledger
- Review and reconcile all inter-company and cash clearing balances
- Run monthly journal entry reversal process
- Complete special projects and requests
- Identify inefficiencies and implement lean practices
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
- COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless the candidate has a legally valid exemption
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or a business-related field
- CPA required
- 3-5 years of experience in Accounting, including leases and Fixed Assets
- Experience in the agriculture industry preferred
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential data and documentatio
- Experience using Oracle Cloud (formerly Fusion) Enterprise Resource Planning and Hyperion Financial Management systems preferre
- Advanced proficiency using Excel and other MS Office systems
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
