We are looking to add a Dispatcher to our team.
The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing transportation of the company, according to the salesmen/company requirements, while keeping costs down. Responsible for delivering items to customers, in a timely fashion, by verifying orders, monitoring drivers, arranging transportation.
To excel in this position, all candidates should be able to multi-task in stressful conditions with little supervision. In addition to being an excellent communicator, the ideal candidate will also demonstrate superb organizational and interpersonal skills.

- Two or more years of dispatching in food/produce industry – Required
- Highschool diploma/G.E.D.
- Basic math skills and reasoning skills – Required
- Bilingual (speak/read/write) - English/Spanish – Required
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) – Required
- Familiarity and experience with a wide range of produce items.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to work effectively with others at all levels of organization
- Experience with Famous Software (preferred)
- Experience with other produce software is a plus
- Able to move/lift 40 lbs. unassisted
- Able to work in temperatures typical of a refrigerated warehouse environment
- Position spends 50% of time on feet either walking, lifting, pulling and pushing
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes
- Scheduling and tracking of all outbound and inbound shipments
- Organize and manage all necessary documentation
- Determine best delivery methods and manage efficiently to remain cost effective
- Serve as liaison between your department, the Sales Department, Order Fulfillment, Repack, Storage, and Inventory
- Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations (GPS) at all times
- Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes
- Verifies items shipped by matching bills of lading, matching invoices, noting discrepancies
- Keeps customers informed by forwarding notice of shipment time and method, and current status; answering questions
- Help resolve issues with customer deliveries and product pick-ups with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Asses any shortages or miss-shipments and determines optimal response/contacts salesmen to make corrections
- Advise personnel about traffic problems such as contraction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards
- Monitor and evaluate service quality by drivers; investigation of complaints, create recommendations for corrective action
