We are currently accepting resumes for a Business Development Specialist to join our team in Ephrata, PA.

Business Development is the practice of identifying, attracting, and acquiring new business. The aim is to reach and surpass revenue and margin goals. The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for growing full truck-load freight brokerage. As an inside sales role, a Specialist will leverage tools such as phones, email, video, and virtual meetings to connect with potential customers.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Meet Quarterly sales and margin goals
  • Responsible for the entire sales pipeline journey from generating leads, converting a lead into an opportunity, close of sale, to customer on-boarding process
  • Generate leads by independently prospecting potential customer
  • Qualify leads by understanding their challenges and offering the best SLI product/solution to meet their needs
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with all prospects to establish and build relationships
  • Develop strong, lasting customer relationships by anticipating their requirements and delivering on needs in a professional and proactive manner
  • Create effective sales strategies by gathering market intel and capitalizing on opportunities
  • In conjunction with the Operations team, identify and report on trends in the market including pricing and innovations
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of customer data, quotes and transactions
  • Responsible for KPI and productivity reporting to leadership
  • Assist Operations team members with servicing accounts, as needed
  • Leverage technology to enhance service to the customer and to strengthen the capability of Sunrise Logistics / cross-sell value-added services
  • Participate in promoting a customer-focused, cooperative, team-oriented culture in alignment with the company’s core values
Education: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications: 
  • 1 or more years of freight brokerage or inside sales experience
  • Self-starter with a desire for growth and excellent customer service
  • Experience within the refrigerated transportation industry
  • Track record of continuously improving and working to better one’s self within a business role
  • Proven experience in effective planning and problem solving within a team environment
  • Exceptional computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Past produce or perishable experience highly desired
