JOB FILLED - Sales Executive

Job Description: 
Sun Pacific began in 1969 with the purchase of 72 acres of oranges in Exeter, California. Today Sun Pacific owns more than 40,000 acres in California and ships 35 million boxes of fresh fruit annually. As the acreage has grown, so has our expertise and attention to detail in farming and packing the highest quality product. Today, with over 3,000 employees, Sun Pacific is the largest grower/shipper of navel oranges in the world, the largest grower/shipper of kiwi in North America, the 2nd largest grower/shipper of mandarins in North America, the largest tomato grower in California and renown for high quality table grapes.
 
Job Summary: The sales executive will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and building positive customer relationships to achieve maximum sales, profitability, market penetration, and growth of Sun Pacific. 

 
Reporting Relationship: The sales executive will report directly to the Vice President of Sales.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Responsible for entire sales process from first contact to close;
  • Making effective presentations of profitable programs to potential and existing customers;
  • Fostering relationships with customers that drive sales for the company;
  • Allocating, delegating, and managing designated sales assistants’ work load;
  • Notifying and assisting buyers, operations and sales support persons by communication of customers’ needs and preferences;
  • Communicating daily with customers regarding current and future market conditions;
  • Conducting weekly review of established sales goals for the season with Sales Manager;
  • Attending all sales meetings and appointments punctually; and,
  • Developing value-added sales proposals with the Sales Manager and present during customer visits.

  • Must possess the skill sets that “close the deal”, e.g. engaging personality, tenacity, appropriate assertiveness, detail or orientation, personable;
  • Ability to analyze complex and changing market factors, evaluate alternative sales practices, and recommend or implement effective courses of action;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to manage accounts effectively to meet targets and deadlines;
  • Quick and accurate with paperwork, figures, attentive to detail, and have good follow-through;
  • Organizational skills, ability to work independently, promote, sell and secure new business;
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal human relations and teaming skills;
  • Ability to quickly learn the inventory monitoring system and control database applications; and,
  • Able to operate a PC; knowledge in Excel and Word.

Qualifications: 
  • 3+ years’ experience in produce sales; and,
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing preferred; high school diploma or a GED equivalent from a certified school required.
