Job Description:
D&J Packing, LLC is a well-established, harvesting company in the Salinas Valley seeking a Grower Accountant / Cost Accountant for its office in Salinas. This position is responsible for setting up and maintaining accurate process cost information, reconciliation of standard costs to actual costs, maintenance of perpetual inventory system, participating in the month end close and budgeting process, and assisting the Accounting Manager with day-to-day operations and reporting requirements. This position will also be responsible for developing/maintaining an effective cost accounting system to reduce cost and improve overall profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop financial models through benchmarking and process analysis
- Forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual profit
- Prepare Cost projections and analysis
- Grower Cost analysis
- Farm Labor Harvester Cost analysis
- Conduct thorough research of historical Cost by Commodity
- Coordinate with executive team on long-term financial planning
- Participate and coordinate preparation of annual budget
- Participate in month end close process as directed
- Assist with Accounts payables, payroll & accounts receivables
- Experience developing cost tracking modules
- Other ad-hoc duties as required
Recommended Qualifications:
- BA in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years proven work experience in accounting or finance
- Hands-on experience with finance database and organization of raw data
- Experience with MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, and advanced formulas
- Research and develop ERP System
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent ability to prioritize multiple critical priorities
- Outstanding communication abilities
- Proven ability to handling confidential and sensitive financial information
Other:
- Valid CA Driver’s License
- Spanish a plus
