Pacific Coast Fruit Company is a local, family owned produce distributor that has proudly served our Pacific Northwest retail, wholesale and food service customers since 1977. We are now one of the largest independent produce distributors in the Northwest with distribution centers in Portland, OR and Seattle, WA.

We are now seeking an experienced Produce Buyer to join our team in Portland, OR.
In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining consistent contact with growers and suppliers. You will explore sourcing alternatives and new products, recommend and establish strategic sourcing programs specific to customer needs and expectations. You will Work closely with team to ensure we are obtaining the right products, at the best quality available, at the best cost, while partnering with sales and service managers to support new product/new customer sales.
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3-5 years related job experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity and experience with a wide range of produce items, including local and organic product.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to create and follow a business strategy.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, and the ability to use data to inform solid business practices.
- Knowledge of commodity locations, growing and harvesting practices, packing, and repacking, and other produce suppliers, distributers and processors.
