Legacy Fruit Packers, LLC, in partnership with Sage Fruit Marketing, sells fruit from our grower partners and our own orchards to large retail buyers in North America and Asia. Last year we packed 18 varieties of apples and pears, both conventional and organic, utilizing various packaging configurations from bags to trays. Our facilities are fully integrated, ensuring fruit is stored, packed, and shipped as conveniently and efficiently as possible.
We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of refrigeration supervisor. This individual will report directly to the refrigeration manager and be responsible for the maintenance and operations of the refrigeration units throughout the facility.
The Refrigeration Supervisor will ensure Comprehensive management and maintenance of all refrigeration equipment and infrastructure dedicated to our packing operation. Primary focus includes effective operational management and preventative maintenance of all core multi-stage liquid ammonia and glycol refrigeration systems such as: recirculating pumps and vessels, motors, compressors, evaporators and condensers, liquid transfer systems, heat exchangers, chilled water piping and delivery systems. Additional responsibilities include refrigeration support of plant expansion projects, outside vendor management, co-gen operation and maintenance, refrigeration-related capital improvement projects, supervision of equipment purchases and installations of all refrigeration parts. Expected to be a constant facilitator of system operational effectiveness, uptime maximization and utility cost improvement.
The successful candidate will have:
- At least 4-5 years of experience/training in commercial refrigeration and mechanics.
- Education in handling and emergency response to anhydrous ammonia
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Ability to work all days and shifts as needed
- Knowledge with fruit industry equipment and supervisor duties
- Knowledge of various CA (ammonia, Freon) test equipment
