JOB FILLED - Senior Accountant

Job Description: 

The Senior Accountant is a self-directed detail-oriented individual with five to seven years accounting experience responsible for preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries and balance sheet reconciliations for various companies. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will perform various treasury functions, prepare presentations for Board Meetings, prepare and consolidate annual budgets, prepare tax workpapers, and produce consolidated financials and other reporting as required. The incumbent must have in-depth knowledge of general accounting principles and be proficient at accounting software and MS Office. The incumbent should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and multitask. She/he should be a strong communicator, both written and oral, as the position requires frequent dealings with colleagues in other parts of the organization. This position reports to the Business Unit Controller.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares and documents asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information and preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Produces monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepares and posts payroll journals.
  • Provides Treasury and Cash management services including cash forecasting and administration of bank disbursements including ACH and Wire Transfers.
  • Prepares monthly sales & use tax reporting.
  • Assembles receipts, reconciles statements, obtains proper authorizations, and prepares journal entries and invoices for off-line credit cards.
  • Finance approver of vendor invoices, reviewing for general ledger coding and purchaser approval accuracies and completedness.
  • Develops annual budget for management and other companies. Consolidates operating unit annual budgets and presents variances to prior year budget and actuals.
  • Provides trial balances and other related information to tax preparer.
  • Prepares monthly borrowing base calculation.
  • Prepares royalty reporting to various vendors.
  • Creates additional reporting and prepares financial analyses as required.
  • Assists the Business Unit Controller by completing assigned audit workpapers and processes.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A degree in accounting is required.
  • 5-7 years of proven and successful experience in an accounting work environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables).
  • Strong research, analytical and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger financial systems and procedures. Experience with Navision a plus.
  • Possess strong organizational, communications and time management skills.
