We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Associate to play a critical support role on our Customer Service Team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in a produce support role, be eager to gain knowledge and expertise in produce markets and possess exceptional customer service skills. This position requires accuracy in a high amount of data entry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to exhibit independence, flexibility, and good judgment to respond to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the work of the Customer Service Team to help meet team goals
  • Provides excellent day to day customer support; troubleshoots customer issues
  • Processes order entries, including checking notes
  • Sends confirmations and tracks volume
  • Sends pre and final manifests
  • Makes order changes and updates, processes credits, rejections and protections
  • Resolves transportation and dispatch issues
  • Communicates logistic loading areas
  • Maintains price templates
  • Reconciles accounting issues such as customer and supplier short pays
  • Tracks member volume
  • Communicates price sheets to members
  • Participates in rotating Saturday morning schedule
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university preferred; OR 2-year college degree plus 1-2 years of customer service/office/produce experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including database entry and ability to learn new programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and customer service skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems independently and with sound judgment
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness and dependability in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, flexibility, enthusiasm and teamwork
  • Ability to work Saturday mornings on a rotating basis

Competitive salary and benefits package.  This is a full-time, non-exempt position.  Employer subsidized health, vision and dental insurance effective on the first of the month following hire. Personal Time Off (PTO) accrual and paid holidays from date of hire.
