Overview:
The Director of Procurement and Sales will provide the necessary leadership to ensure that the supply chain has the proper systems in place to effectively execute daily production schedules. This is accomplished through overseeing all purchasing required to fill customer orders. Additionally, this role will have direct oversight of our sales, managing existing as well as developing customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 4-6 individuals consisting of purchasing, customer relations, and sales.
- Oversee the maintenance of existing accounts.
- Proactively nurture and develop relationships with existing RFC customers; provide solutions and service to customers while working with the broader RFC team.
- Lead new business development including evaluating new product opportunities.
- Communicates with operations, shipping, and procurement to provide superior customer service.
- Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all programs and awareness and understanding of the industry as it pertains to competition, markets, products, and trends.
- Accountable for customer forecasts and estimated growth plans.
- Responsible for development and enhancing relationship with suppliers and securing cost effective, quality product.
- Confer with suppliers to obtain product pricing, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Monitor commodity specific forecasts and market trends to determine future prices and availability.
- Sufficient knowledge of produce supply-chain operations, farming, packing, cooling, transportation, etc.
Leadership Responsibility:
- Energetic forward thinking individual with ability to maintain effective working relationships within all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain an active physical presence on the production floor as required
- Ability to manage a project from its initiation to completion with minimal direction and supervision.
- Ability to carry out defined procedures with or without specific instructions including the ability to learn new duties.
- Experience in people development
- Previous experience with staff management
- Capable of working without direction
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Previous commodity/category management and buying experience required.
- Previous work in sales capacity including developing new customers and pricing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of KPI's and tracking
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong business acuity.
- Basic understanding of P&L
- Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

- Experience in gathering, analyzing, and reporting of data.
