Job Description: 

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for building and maintaining reports and analytical tools for the business. This person will work closely with business users to understand system data, help define data needs and execute solutions that enable teams to make data driven business decisions. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for building and maintaining automated reporting and self-service solutions that will scale as the company continues to grow. You will be an expert who can provide ad-hoc support and help educate stakeholders on data best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and analytical tools for all areas of the business.
  • Partner with business teams to define and document business requirements for new metrics, reports and dashboards.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of published reports and analytical solutions.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile and identify gaps, uncover unmet business needs and partner with architecture and solution delivery teams to create solutions.
  • Assist in development of KPI report production, automation, and validation.
  • Use knowledge of the specific data available and visualization capabilities to enhance requirements and provide insightful suggestions to business stakeholders.
  • Deploy data quality checks and ensure high quality of reports and dashboards.
  • Promote and drive a self-service data culture by building easy to use tools and dashboards and teaching business users how to use them.
  • Assist in support of end-users’ ability to utilize the reporting platform effectively and efficiently.
  • Stay up to date on new functionality and trends in business intelligence.
  • Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment and exercise independent judgment.
  • Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards and observes common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented person who is passionate about quality and enthusiastic about new technology.
  • Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on outcomes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Computer Science preferred, equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Experience creating reports and visuals using Microsoft Power
  • BI or similar BI tool.
  • Microsoft Power Query and DAX experience preferred.
  • Microsoft DA-100/Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Windows applications.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Able to work in a loud, cold and wet environment. Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis. Lift and move up to 30 pounds occasionally. Any specialized tools needed for a specific task, will be provided by the company and are to remain on site in the company designated storage area.
