Today, with over 3,000 employees, Sun Pacific is the largest grower/shipper of navel oranges in the world, and the largest grower/shipper of table grapes, mandarins, and kiwi in North America. Our team is growing and currently looking for a Spray Operations Auditor, for our farming department in the Central Valley.

JOB SUMMARY: The Spray Operations Auditor, will evaluate the regulatory compliance and the efficacy of the Company’s pesticide applications in reports distributed to the farm management team (primarily between Reedley and Maricopa). As a member of the Spray Specialists Department, the Spray Operations Auditor will take an active role in supporting the department’s various service offerings which include; training application staff, inspecting equipment, calibrating equipment, and integrating new technologies. With over 200 sprayers at Sun Pacific, there will always be an opportunity for improvement. The primary function of the Spray Operations Auditor is to find issues and bring them to the attention of the farm management team so they can manage operations.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The Spray Operations Auditor will directly report to and work under the supervision and direction of the Specialist, Spray Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Auditing the Company’s pesticide operations (days and nights, dependent on which shift the crews are working); including, recording the DPR compliance, pesticide mixing, equipment calibration, and coverage deposition through the Company’s mobile report generation tool;
Assisting in Spray Calibration by installing/replacing minor parts and nozzles on sprayers, driving tractors, sampling coverage, and preforming minor repairs that prevent proper calibration;
Conducting Spray Personnel Training (in both Spanish and English);
Aiding the Specialist, Spray Operations in all tasks; and,
All other tasks, projects, duties and responsibilities, as assigned by the Company and/or the Specialist, Spray Operations.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years’ experience with planning, farming, and management of spray setups and related farming equipment; and,
Valid Qualified Applicator’s License (If not possessed at time of hire, must be obtained within first 6 months of employment).

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIIES:

Bilingual in English and Spanish (Must be able to provide complex trainings in Spanish; as well as, write professional reports in English for farm managers and the Company’s directors);
Ability to work extensive hours, nights, weekends, and be flexible to compliment the demands of the farming and spray operations;
Possession of a CDL and an acceptable driving record insurable by the Company’s insurance policy;
Ability to operate various tractors, and back up trailers;
Willingness to learn progressive application concepts and ideas;
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities, projects, and tasks;
Physical requirements include driving for extended periods of time, work will be outdoors in hot and dusty fields during active pesticide applications, often on uneven terrain and at night; and,
Must be able to climb up ladders and hang water sensitive paper in trees. Must be able to carry ladders that weight up to 35 lbs.
